FamiLibros = Family & books (in Spanish)
Alejandra and Matthew Kearl founded FamiLIBROS in 2018, their Mission is to support an underserved community by educating & providing books to parents and caregivers in the hopes of encouraging reading to children at a young age.
We are a nonprofit organization focused on proving books and information about the importance of parents/care givers reading to young children. Reading is an essential activity that is linked to children’s cognitive development, academic skills, general well being and future employment opportunities.
Are you passionate about what we're doing? Let us know! We are always looking for volunteers to help us make our vision a reality. We'll help you find a way to volunteer that best suits you. We're excited to have you join the team!
Whether you help through monetary donations, book donations, volunteering your time, or spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, thank you. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you.
Matthew Kearl from Los Angeles, California and Alejandra Kearl from Copiapo, Chile have shared a love of reading since they were very young. After becoming parents they shared that love of reading with each of their 4 boys. They've seen the great benefits reading both with and to their children has brought to their family. This activity has benefits not only to their development and intellect but the bonding created by the quality time spent together.
This love and their desire to help others appreciate family reading is the reason they created FamiLIBROS. Matthew and Alejandra strive to share this unique experience with as many as possible, especially reaching out to the immigrant and otherwise underserved communities.
